.
This past month, a Transylvania College delegation made of four students and one teacher attended the second annual leadership summit organized by No. 2 High School from Zhengzhou, China.
Stefan Apostol, Razvan Balta, Daniel Bega and Paul Nistor, from Yr. 11, along with Miss Oana Radulescu were part of exciting activities and experiences that familiarised them with the Chinese education system, culture, traditions and spirituality and opened their eyes to the importance of valuing heritage and carrying on traditions in the context of modern, innovative times.
The summit agenda included visits to The Great Wall of China, the Shaolin Temple(birthplace of Kung Fu), botanical gardens, as well as robot exhibitions and competitions, debates, lectures about the future of education in China, practicing Tai Chi, enjoying Chinese cuisine, shopping, working collaboratively with students their age on action plans to preserve and carry on cultural traditions of their countries, and so much more.
It was a great, enlightening experience for everyone involved. Our students showed their innovative thinking and leadership skills in all the projects they were involved in, bringing back honourable awards and diplomas.
We are so honoured to have been invited to the next year’s summit.
