Find out more about his experience as an exchange student below:
Where did you go?
Hackley School is located in Tarrytown, New York. Founded in 1899, it boasts a long history of academic and extracurricular performance, with top scorers, high-class college graduates and excellent debaters, actors and sportsmen among its graduates.
So how was it?
Well, it was outstanding. I really enjoyed every detail, from the classes to my classmates to the food. I also got to visit many colleges, see New York, get lost in the school woods and eat lethal amounts of cheesecake and peanut butter.
Why New York?
I always wanted to study in the US and after the brief taste provided by LIYLS 2017, I knew for sure a New York exchange would suit me best. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Miss Luminița, Miss Mihaela, Miss Iulia and the rest of the school body who helped me achieve this.
Any advice for aspiring internationalists?
Work for your exchange, especially to make sure you get the exchange you wanted. I first inquired about school exchanges in May 2017 and finally got to go in January 2019. I persevered in making my exchange application, looking around from the available school to pick the best suited, and never faltered to other countries, as I knew the US was my destination.
