23 Nov Leadership starts here “How leader in me” programme will change our children lives

As a specialist in early childhood education for almost 15 years now, and as a psychologist, I was trained to use the classical approach in education. As part of my personal development I’ve read many books and articles in which I found different approaches in how to raise children differently and help them become adults with a strong sense of responsibility and a healthy conscience of their personality.

When I heard that we would introduce a socio-emotional program in our school, I was very excited because our training programs are usually focused on good practice and innovation in teaching technics. From my point of view the socio-emotional development is the most important part for our personality, so our students are very lucky to have teachers who will contribute to their personal development. They will learn together with us one of the fundamental assumptions of this program: EVERYONE CAN BE A LEADER. And I think this is great because this approach is not very common for us – I always believed that only the very gifted people are able to become leaders.

“Leader in me” is, in fact, a process, not a program. A process that will change and develop our life skills, our culture and our academic results. All our students from Nursery to High School learn that we only need 7 habits to have a more structured and meaningful life. All the habits will teach us to: be proactive; have a plan; put first things first; think win-win; listen before talk; synergize and be balanced in everything we do. The most important thing we teach and learn in this program is to have fun and be happy.

Learning about these 7 habits, our children and students will be more confident to try and give their best in everything. “The difference between what we do and what we are capable of doing would suffice to solve most of the world’s problems” – Mahatma Gandhi.
